Fall 2011

Today is the beginning of an end...

It's the first day of classes for the fall 2011 semester here at NMU, and I have got to say that mixed emotions are being stirred up in this young mathematician. With only four classes and 12 credit hours, I'm excited to begin learning about Combinatorics, German, Physiology of Aging, and I had to throw in a super easy class to bring my credit count to 12, Jogging.

This last semester of mine is leading up to my much anticipated graduation in December. Being the first in my family to obtain a Bachelor's degree, this graduation means a lot to me and my family. Without their support (Mom & Dad) I would have struggled, and perhaps failed, in being strong enough to face some tough, unpredictable situations. Therefore, this degree is theirs' too.

After NMU there's preparing for a big move to an undetermined location, while I wait for a letter of acceptance to tell me where I'll be going. The move will obviously be to an excellent graduate school, where I'll study more in-depth mathematics, teach classes, conduct research, and meet other requirements to obtain my Ph.D.

I'm taking one day at time, and savoring these moments.
